Karla Moffatt is fighting cancer with a spirit and perseverance that should be an inspiration to us all. Karla, along with her husband Paul, have been ardent supporters of soccer at Harpeth Middle School and Harpeth High School. Karla and Paul were one of five sets of parents that signed a promissory note guaranteeing loan repayment for construction of Hockenberger Field, which is now home to all Harpeth Soccer teams. Karla served as the secretary of South Cheatham Soccer, the group that built and paid for the project. The group relied on Karla’s determination on seeing this project completed and all monies repaid. Karla was relentless in organizing numerous fundraisers, including numerous pancake breakfasts, to help fund the soccer teams. Karla was also the consummate soccer mom to their daughter Alex, a member of the very first Harpeth Middle School Girls Soccer team. Alex also played four years on the Harpeth High School team, and is now head coach of the Harpeth Middle School Girls Soccer team. Karla and Paul try to attend every game that Alex coaches. Karla credits her strong faith for her ability to battle cancer and that “God is Good!”
